History
Father Hennepin Credit Union was started by Council 435 in 1962. The goal was to meet the financial needs of the Knights and their families while holding to the Catholic faith and the precepts of the Knights of Columbus. St Boniface Parishes Credit Union was founded in 1935. Gradually, more and more parishes in the northeast part of Minneapolis were added and the name was eventually changed to North East Catholic Parishes Credit Union. In 1995, Northeast Parishes Credit Union was merged into Father Hennepin Credit Union. After that, Father Hennepin was serving both Catholic parishioners and the Knights. The credit union was renamed the Minnesota Catholic Credit Union to more fully define the membership of the expanded Credit Union. In 1999, the KC Credit Union of St. Paul was merged into the Minnesota Catholic Credit Union bringing in more Knights and their families. In 2007, a change in our charter allows us to serve all of the Knights of Columbus in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Archdiocese. Combined with our recent move to Spring Lake Park, we are now better positioned to provide sound financial services to more and more KC Councils and Catholic Churches in the greater Twin Cities |
